Due to the large number of variations on this concept, roguelikes are normally classified as either being a classical roguelike with qualities that meet the " Berlin Interpretation" for roguelikes, or as hybrid roguelikes, roguelike-likes, roguelites, or procedural death labyrinths, which possess some but not all of these qualities. Roguelike games are those that incorporate elements of role-playing games with procedural generation, following the formula of the genre's namesake, Rogue. This is a selected list of roguelike video games. You can help by adding missing items with reliable sources. If I set -console or don't set any of the flags then I get the error above. This is a dynamic list and may never be able to satisfy particular standards for completeness. What I found is that I need to add either the -gl or -vk flags when starting the game, either of these work. If this is the problem, if you all are lucky, the solution could be as simple as creating a symlink named after the version of the library it's expecting (libSDL2-2.0.so.0).Ġ0:00:00.03 Jupiter Hell 1.0 Logging startedĠ0:00:00.03 Detected application pref dir: len: 0Ġ0:00:00.03 library "libsteam_api.so" : loading.Ġ0:00:00.03 library "libsteam_api.so" : failed to open!Ġ0:00:00.03 library "libchf_gog_wrapper.so" : loading.Ġ0:00:00.03 library "libchf_gog_wrapper.so" : failed to open!Ġ0:00:00.04 Loading Lua buffer 'lua::configuration::scheme'Ġ0:00:00.04 library "libSDL2-2.0.so.0" : loading.Ġ0:00:00.05 sdl - error displaying message box! Perhaps both your systems have versions of libSDL different from what it's expecting to find. Have a good day, fellows :) This is a guess as to what the problem is, but based on this and what the other poster said (stopped working after a system update), I'm wondering if it's looking for a specific version of a library (libSDL in this case would be my guess) but can't find the version it's looking for. So, is there anyone else who has a similar / the same problem? I found another thread fixing a file permission-issue, but this did not solve the problem. If the latter is the case, it should be possible to PRELOAD libSDL from the system, as is necessary for some other GOG games to make it run. It was in the log.txt that I found the following error which I struggle to decipher / interpret.Ġ0:00:00.00 Jupiter Hell 0.9.3b (beta) Logging startedĠ0:00:00.00 Detected application pref dir: len: 0Ġ0:00:00.01 library "libsteam_api.so" : loading.Ġ0:00:00.01 library "libsteam_api.so" : failed to open!Ġ0:00:00.01 library "libchf_gog_wrapper.so" : loading.Ġ0:00:00.01 library "libchf_gog_wrapper.so" : failed to open!Ġ0:00:00.01 Loading Lua buffer 'lua::configuration::scheme'Ġ0:00:00.01 library "libSDL2-2.0.so.0" : loading.Ġ0:00:00.02 sdl - error displaying message box!įirst off, I am wondering where the error lies, if it is related to libsteam and libchf or if the error is "only" related to libSDL. So, as I said, jupiter hell is not starting (I tried it via lutris, commandline. I have a problem starting jupiter hell ever since moving to my new distro and was wondering if someone here has any idea where I could start looking - or simply tell me "hey, I have the same problem". Please not I am not seeking "regular" support since I'm on a non-ubunto linux variant (endeavourOS, arch variant).
